my story

Anchor 1

We finally reach the top, and I can’t find an emotion. I scroll through my brain like an old-school jukebox, but come up with nothing. To begin, it is breathtakingly beautiful. There are few views that—from left to right—are human-less. But what an incorrect thought…there are humans everywhere. Blinding irony—that’s what it is. It is actually terribly ugly, if not horrifying. What used to be a mountain range is now a series of plateaus, appearing as if someone had taken a machete and sliced off every peak. All greenery is gone, leaving a brownish-grey resin of dirt, uninhabitable for even the most resilient of ecosystems. Nature has lost, and will only continue to lose. This view stretches for miles.
